After the late-fee window closes, a correction facility will be available from 27 November to 29 November 2026, allowing applicants to rectify specific particulars in their submitted forms. Examination Schedule and Paper Structure

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 will be conducted on six days: 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January 2027. The test is delivered in two shifts daily. The first shift runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM for Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning). The second shift operates from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for Paper 1 and 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM for Papers 2A and 2B.

Paper 1 comprises 75 questions across Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, each subject having 20 multiple-choice questions in Section A and 5 numerical-value questions in Section B. Paper 2A (B.Arch) includes Mathematics (20 MCQs + 5 numerical), Aptitude Test (50 questions), and a Drawing Test (2 questions) conducted offline on an A4 sheet. Paper 2B (B.Planning) replaces the Drawing Test with a Planning section of 25 questions. Negative marking applies to both sections in all papers.

Language Options and Session Flexibility

The examination will be offered in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates select their preferred medium while filling the application form. This multilingual approach ensures accessibility for aspirants across different linguistic regions of the country.

An important flexibility feature allows candidates who apply for Session 1 to use the same application number for Session 2 (April 2027) when its notification is released, paying only the additional session fee. Those who wish to appear only in Session 2 can register afresh when that window opens. The tentative Session 2 schedule is published in the Information Bulletin available on the official website.

Eligibility Highlights and Key Instructions

While the detailed eligibility criteria — including age limit, qualifying examination, year of passing, and subject requirements — are contained in the Information Bulletin, the notice emphasises that only one application per candidate is permitted. Multiple submissions will attract strict disciplinary action, including disqualification at any stage. The application must be submitted exclusively through the online mode at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/; no offline or alternative modes are accepted.

Applicants must provide a valid, personal or parent/guardian email address and mobile number, as all communications — including admit card release alerts, city intimation, and result notifications — will be sent only to these registered contacts. For technical assistance, candidates can contact the helpdesk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or email jeemain@nta.ac.in.
